Practiced — Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 29, 2026

Practiced is a platform that connects parents and guardians with sports trainers for their young athletes. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and — because many of our users are children under 13 whose parents manage their accounts — what specific protections apply to that information under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

The short version: children never create their own accounts or log into Practiced. Parents and guardians create and control every athlete profile. We collect the minimum information needed to connect you with a trainer, we never sell data or use it for ad targeting, and you can review or permanently delete your athlete's information at any time from the app.

1. Who Uses Practiced

Practiced has three types of accounts: parents/guardians, who create profiles for their young athletes and book training sessions; trainers, who offer coaching services and interact with athlete profiles their parents have booked with them; and administrators, who manage the platform. Children do not have their own logins — a parent or legal guardian is always the account holder.

2. Information We Collect

About parents/guardians (the account holder)

About your child (the athlete profile)

We do not collect photos, videos, audio, precise location, or any biometric identifiers about children. We do not knowingly collect any information directly from a child — all athlete information is entered by the parent or guardian, and any field describing the child, including their name, is optional at the parent's discretion.

3. How We Use Information

We do not use children's information for behavioral advertising, do not run ad-tracking SDKs in the app, and do not sell or rent any personal information to third parties.

4. Who Can See Your Child's Information

An athlete's profile is visible only to: the parent/guardian who created it, and the specific trainer(s) that parent has booked a session with. Trainers cannot see athletes they haven't been booked with. Administrators can access account data only for support and platform-safety purposes.

5. Parental Consent

Because a parent or guardian is the one creating each athlete profile, we require an affirmative confirmation at the time a profile is created: that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, and that you consent to the information being shared with trainers you choose to book. This confirmation is recorded with a timestamp on your account.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We don't keep children's data forever. Here's exactly how long we retain it and what happens when an account is deleted:

SituationWhat happens
You delete an athlete profileDeleted immediately — including all associated coach notes, evaluations, and goals
You delete your parent accountDeleted immediately — your account, all athlete profiles, notes, evaluations, goals, and booking history are permanently removed
Your account is inactive for 24 monthsWe email a warning and give you 30 days to sign back in
No sign-in within that 30-day windowYour account and all associated data are automatically and permanently deleted

You can delete your account and all of your children's data at any time from Account → Delete My Account in the app or web portal. This is immediate and cannot be undone. You can also delete a single athlete profile without closing your whole account from the Athletes tab.

7. Your Rights as a Parent

You can, at any time and without needing to contact us:

If you'd rather not use the in-app tools, you can email us at support@thepracticed.com and we'll handle the request directly.

8. Data Security

Athlete and parent data is stored in an encrypted database that is not directly reachable from the public internet. Access to backend systems is restricted to authenticated application requests over encrypted connections. We do not store payment card numbers on our own servers.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to how we handle children's information, we'll update this page and, where required, notify parents directly by email before the change takes effect.
